No fuss dyeing with onion skins! No mordants needed.
Boil skins for about an hour.. Let liquor cool. Remove skins. Add wet fibre. Simmer for about an hour. Leave to cool in dyepot. Remove and rinse.
The 2 skeins on the right are from the first simmering, and the 2 on the left are from re-using it again. The middle 2 skeins are grey Jacob, and the skein on the right is white wool. The small skein on the left is variegated handspun Jacob.
